Things That Should Not Be Refrigerated

     Present day lifestyle helps us save our fresh food and veggies effortlessly. The general purpose of having a huge refrigerator is to avoid sustenance turning sour two days after purchasing it. In any case, there are a few sorts of fresh food and vegetables that shouldn’t be put away in the refrigerator because they tend to loose their flavor.

     There are situations where refrigerating foods make it rotten quicker.

This is the rundown of foods you unquestionably should not refrigerate;

   •Potatoes: When too cold, the starch present in potatoes turn to sugar, yielding an off flavor. Keep potatoes stored in a paper bag in a cool, dry place same goes for sweet potatoes.

    •Apples: Apples, just like tomatoes, start to change colour and loose flavor after spending time in the fridge. Leave them on the counter, and toss them in the fridge for 30 minutes prior to eating if you want a crisp bite.

     •Onions: The best place for onions is in a basket or paper bag; plastic bags promote moisture and speed decay process. Keep in a cool, dark cabinet or drawer. If stored in the fridge, they soften, spoil and impart an awful oniony scent on nearby foods.

       •Bananas: Leave your bananas on the counter, and if you have to refrigerate, do that just for a space of 5seconds or less. Bananas are easy to decay under very cold temperature.

        •Tomatoes: Tomatoes actually start losing their flavor when you leave it for too long. The best way to preserve your tomatoes is to grind and steam. If you would rather not grind, leave them on the counter and use when they start to show sign of paleness. It’s best not to buy your tomatoes in large quantities to avoid storing for longer periods of time.

         •Salads: Most salad dressing especially ones that are vinegar or oil-based should be kept outside the fridge. It’s advised you dress the quantity of salad you can consume, leftovers cannot be refrigerated.

           •Garlic: Store your garlic in a paper bag, keep in a cool dark spot, and it will hold its wonderful flavor over weeks.

          •Peppers: Red, green, yellow, and even chili peppers are just fine stored in a paper bag in a cool cupboard or drawer. If you must refrigerate don’t keep more than a day or two. This ensures it retains its natural taste and freshness

             •Honey: Your honey will turn to crystallized gunk if it is stored in the fridge, Honey is all-natural and can stay good almost indefinitely in the pantry

            •Coffee:  You should not refrigerate or freeze coffee because it causes condensation and changes the flavor. Coffee fares best in an airtight container.
